Ans:The rude person's behaviour towards the lift man must have seemed as an insult to his social position.

on his shins because the pain of kick soon passes away but the wound caused to one's self respect doesn't heal easily.
3)The passenger, rather rudely, demanded to be taken to the top floor.The lift man wanted a more polite request prefaced with the word 'please' . Since the passenger refuses to use the word, the liftman
threw the passenger out of the lift.

Ans:
Good manners and kindliness leaves always a good impact on the society.The author has narrated two incidents that deals with the conductor. In the first incident, author boarded a bus. When the conductor asked him a ticket, he found that he had no money. He told the fact to the conductor. The conductor believed and offered him a ticket without money.He made no fuss .In another incident, a few days later ,the author was traveling by bus. Conductor's heavy boot trampled the author's toe.The conductor realised it and apologised.The author said nothing because he had warm feelings for conductor .

Ans:The world is a place where one has to live with people of different attitudes, manners and mentalities.They behave in different ways.There is no law that can compel people,to have good manners. Bad manners poison the whole atmosphere.It spoil the stream of life.
The service of the police is necessary for the implementation of law in our society.But law cannot force people to be well mannered.So people should have good manners , rather than the police, to make their lives pleasant.
