About the poet -
Edger Guest was an American writer . He was born in England. He was brought to the United States when he was ten years old .He began his writing career in 1895 at the age of fourteen . He is known as ' people's poet '. His style of writing is simple and optimistic .
About the poem :-
This is an inspirational poem In this poem ,the poet is asking the readers whether they have done anything to improve the life of another human being or not.It is up to you whether you will have a better future or not . Therefore one should consider one's actions and deeds carefully and plan accordingly for a better future .

Answer ----
The speaker wants to suggest through this line that any day will be considered as a wasted day , if it is not used , to improve others life . On the other hand, there will be a trail of kindnesses, if the day spent well . We should spend every day of our life , for the betterment of the needy .

" As you close your eyes in slumber do you think that God would say ,
You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today ? "
Elaborate the idea expressed in these lines .
Answer ----
You must be charitable and compassionate to others . God wants you to take the blessings of others . Keep your heart open and share your love with the other peoples . You should help others with good intentions and forget about it .if you have greeted your friends cheerfully ,if someone is grateful for your deed ,if you have rejoiced a single man ,if you have given a courage to someone and if you have not wasted the day disappointedly ,
If your work is of this type ,or if you are spending your day by this way , God will definitely say you that you have earned one more tomorrow .
