How to identify degree .
1)Superlative degree :-
This degree contains the words like, ' the most', or '--st,' or '---est' ,
eg:the biggest, the tallest,the most important,
(the +most + adjective) or
(the+ adjective+st/est )
2) Comparative degree:-
It contains words like, --er, 'more' and 'than'
eg: bigger, taller,more important
( Adjective +er +than ) or ( more + adjective+ than)
3) Positive degree:-
It contains words like, 'as.....as' or 'so....as'
eg: as big as, as tall as,
(as + adjective +as )

How to change from Superlative degree to positive----------
Follow the Chart given below ---
( No other + 4 + 2 +as + adjective
+as + 1 )
How to use the above chart ----
Divide the sentence into 4 parts
- Take subject as part 1
- Take verb as part. 2
- Take 'the + adjective +'---est' as Part 3
- Take remaining sentence as Part 4
- Now-----------
- Begin the sentence with no other
- Take part no. 4
- Then take part no. 2
- Then take part no.3
- And finally take part no. 1
Now let's see the example ,
1) Mumbai is the biggest city in maharashtra.
(See how to make 4 parts -
1) mumbai,2) is,3)the biggest 4)in maharashtra.)
Formula - (No other + 4 + 2 +as --as
+ 1 )
Ans:- No other city in maharashtra is as big as Mumbai.

Now let's see how to turn Superlative degree in to Comparative degree.
Rules:----
- Remove article 'the' & ' st ',or '---est' suffix of the adjective.(eg:bigg 'est)
- After removing, ....................
- Add 'er' suffix to adjective.(bigg +er)
- Then write the words 'than any other ' after the adjective.
1) Superlative--Mumbai is the biggest city in maharashtra.
Comparative-- Mumbai is bigger than any other city in maharashtra

When the comparison is between two person,things,or groups,
Such comparison can be done by using only comparative and positive degree .
Comparative to positive:
Example:
1)Mumbai is bigger than Poona.
Positive--Poona is not as big as Mumbai.
Positive to comparative ,:
1)Raj is not as clever as Mahesh.
Comparative- Mahesh is cleverer than Raj.
(* If the given sentence is affirmative, while changing degree make the new sentence Negative.
And if the given sentence is Negative make the new sentence affirmative.)
